Today, Sennheiser announced the launch of three new additions to its range of audiophile HD series of headphones and these models will replace some of the predecessors. The three open, dynamic high-end headphones are equipped with Sennheiser's specially developed E.A.R. (Ergonomic Acoustic Refinement) technology. Acoustic baffles inclined at a slight angle guide the audio signal directly to the ears giving the listener better sound.
All three headphones look really nice and I can’t wait to test them out. Here’s a little introduction:
All three headphones look really nice and I can’t wait to test them out. Here’s a little introduction:
The HD 598
HD 598: This one has a cream-coloured surface, a dark wood grain effect and glossy metallic trim, rounded off with a silhouette. Special diaphragm geometry minimizes intermodulation distortion during sound reproduction, while a highly constant, compressed cellulose fleece reduces total harmonic distortion to below 0.1 percent. The frequency response is 12 to 38,500 Hertz. These headphones cost Rs. 12,990.
The HD 558
HD 558: These are beige-coloured open, circum aural headphones with high-gloss burl wood parts and matching ear pads. They incorporate Sennheizer’s E.A.R. technology where audio signals are directly channelled into the ears. These headphones also have a high-quality leatherette headband and velour ear pads to provide more comfort for longer listening sessions. The HD 558 has a frequency response of 15 to 28,000 Hertz and will cost Rs 8,990
The HD 518
HD 518: This is Sennheiser's entry-level model into the audiophile world. Its balanced sound image covers the frequency range from 14 to 26,000 Hertz. The ear cups have an anthracite finish and have breathable ear pads and a low weight for more comfort. These headphones cost Rs. 6,490
