Rumours about the upcoming iPad have been floating around since a while now. The last bit of information that we received about the iPad 3 revealed that the tablet would come with a high resolution display, a faster processor and LTE capabilities. Speculations hinting at a March launch date had surfaced in the past, and several websites began stating it, too. Customary as it seems, Apple launched the last two iPads during the first quarter of the year, hence all indications point to a similar release date for the upcoming iPad. A report by Macotakara reveals that, according to sources, this year will be no different. Apple is preparing to host a ‘Special Event’ in early February, which could very well be the date for the unveiling of the iPad 3.
A 'Special Event' to be held in February?
The report states, “According to Asian supplier and a source in United States, Apple seems to prepare to hold Special Event in early February. Because Chinese factory will be in holiday of New Year, then new product is considered to be released in early March.” The first tablet from Apple was announced in January 2010, but was available for purchase only in March of that year. However, the next iPad was announced on the 2nd of March 2011, and was released only a few days later on March 11th, 2011.
