It appears that LG can’t wait for CES to begin. The brand already previewed a range of 3D monitors and more recently a 55-inch OLED TV, which is the first of its kind. They are at it again and this time giving a preview of the rest of their product line-up for the event. Again previewing what they have lined up for CES, which is another ‘first of its kind,’ LG will unveil an 84-inch ultra definition (UD) 3D TV. With this monstrous television, LG have combined their 3D technology and Smart TV functionality with UD technology.
Another first of its kind 84-inch UD 3D TV
With this UD technology, LG claims that this TV boasts great picture quality with 8 million pixels, which is four times the resolution of current full HD TV panels at 3840 x 2160 pixels. The brand’s press release states, “Combined with LG’s Slim and Narrow Bezel Design, the 3D UD TV provides the most convincing 3D viewing experience currently available outside of a movie theater. What’s more, 3D Depth Control allows users to customize their viewing experience by controlling the 3D effect while 3D Sound Zooming provides users with 3D sound that rivals the output of all but the best home theater systems.”
Apart from this, LG states that users can access LG’s Smart TV ecosystem comprising of over 1,200 apps and premium content services, including 3D Zone where users can access a range of 3D movies. The LG Magic Remote is also thrown in the bundle and it has been improved functions, such as the ability to recognize different commands. These commands include voice recognition, wheel, magic gesture and point.
With 2012 just around the corner, it appears that LG is leading the way in ushering a new era of home entertainment. With UD technology being showcased, it appears that full HD 1080p technology may soon become obsolete. Stay tuned for the full low down on what LG has to offer at CES, which is set to take place soon.
