Samsung DROID Charge to Get Gingerbread Tuesday?

Some evidence has cropped up showing that the Samsung DROID Charge Verizon’s first Samsung LTE phone, will be getting an upgrade to Android 2.3 this Tuesday, November 29th. Alongside the gingery features we know Gingerbread brings, we’re also expected to see the following changes, improvements and additions:
  • Updated Download Manager app - from where you can manage all of your downloads from web browsing, email attachments and other apps.
  • Improved word selection and Copy/Paste functionality.
  • New widgets, icons and screens with refreshed colors.
  • Added device and SD card encryption; VPN enhancements integrate IPSec VPN clients into device security settings.
  • Updated Calendar options - ability to display event times in your home time zone when traveling; Dismiss individual reminders.
  • Pause, Wait and Password have been added into the voicemail speed dial entry for manual entry/storage.
  • Increased intensity of the vibration alert.
  • Added Software Upgrade Assistant (SUA).
  • Reduced volume of the Low Battery Notification sound has been reduced.
If all this is really set to go down (this is a rumor and even if it has some credibility to it, anything can change) you’re in store for a nice treat. That’s unless you were expecting Honeycomb, in which case I’d say don’t hold your breath
