Angry Birds finally flies to the BlackBerry PlayBook

Angry Birds is finally available on the BlackBerry PlayBook, according to a report by Reuters. The PlayBook launched in April, running BlackBerry's QNX OS and being the business centric tablet that it is, the popular iOS and Android game did not come to the BlackBerry operating system. The game is still not available on BlackBerry smartphones, which use an older version of the operating system. The game has been downloaded on iOS and Android devices 600 million times.

However, now, 7 months after the PlayBook's launch, the game has landed on the device and costs $4.99 (about Rs. 249) and there are three versions available through BlackBerry's App World. The three versions that are available online are the standard Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio. From the screenshots available in the App World Online, it doesn't look like the games come with the Might Eagle yet, which is the in-game power up purchase. While the game doesn't seem likely to boost PlayBook sales, the move is representative of BlackBerry not being strictly business.
