Salora launches affordable 3G wireless modem with multiple operator support

New Delhi-based company, Salora has launched an universal 3G wireless modem for just Rs.1,900. What this means is that you’re no longer tied down to one service provider as the Salora Zapper can accept any 3G SIM card from any telecom provider. The 3G modem supports HSDPA speeds up to 7.2Mbps and HSUPA up to 5.76Mbps. It also supports quad-band GSM frequencies and EDGE.

The Salora Zapper is based on a USB interface, so it easily works on a Windows-based PC or Mac. Once plugged in, the modem automatically installs the software required to dial to the Internet. It also supports simultaneous operation of data and messaging services. There’s a single RGB LED, which changes colour depending on the state of the card.  What’s more, it also features a microSD card slot with support for up to 32GB, so it can double up as a storage device as well.

This is a great solution for those who don’t want to be stuck with expensive data plans from service providers. Here, you simply buy this as a one time investment and then use the SIM card from the telecom operator that gives you the best 3G deal.
