Delhi's Nehru Place in top 30 notorious IT markets globally


Now, our capital city has featured on a list we wouldn't quite take pride in. A First Post report confirms that, according to a report formulated by the U.S, in the list of 30 global notorious IT markets; New Delhi's Nehru Place is one. This market deals with goods and services that infringe on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The report aimed to identify 30 such locations, globally, which through their activities were helping the global piracy and counterfeiting business flourish.

According to a quote by U.S Trade Representative, Ron Kirk featured on First Post, "Piracy and counterfeiting continue to present a serious challenge to the innovation and creativity that is essential to supporting American jobs and creating economic growth around the world. The notorious markets highlighted in this review negatively impact legitimate businesses and industries of all sizes that rely on intellectual property to protect their goods and services."

The entire review process concluded on September 22, this year.
