LG reveals Android 4.0 update schedule for their smartphone line-up

We had an inkling, back in November about LG’s plans to update their handsets to Ice Cream Sandwich and now we some new information on that schedule. The update will be rolled out in two waves - the first of which will be hitting in Q2 in 2012. The initial batch of handsets to receive the Android 4.0 update are the LG Optimus LTE, Prada phone by LG 3.0, the LG Optimus 2X, the LG Optimus Sol, the LG my Touch Q and the LG Eclipse.

The second wave will begin a bit later in Q3, 2012 and will cover the following handsets: the LG Optimus 3D, the LG Optimus Black, the LG Optimus Big, the LG Optimus Q2 and the LG Optimus EX. Compared to Sony Ericsson and Samsung, LG’s update schedule seems to be the most detailed one, which is surprising, given how lax they’ve been with the Gingerbread updates. Now, whether LG will actually stick to this schedule is yet to be seen, since their Gingerbread updates didn’t exactly follow any schedule, despite them announcing it way in advance. LG posted this piece of news on their Facebook page, earlier today.
