Play with the PS3 DualShock controller on the Sony Tablet S

Have you ever considered using the PS3 controller with Sony’s Tablet S? Sony has just made that possible with their latest update to the Tablet S, thereby giving users the ability to use the DualShock controller as an alternative to the touchscreen controls. These touchscreen controls found on the slates are known to be awkwardly positioned, albeit slightly and this seems like a big step forward for gaming on tablets.

According to Engadget, this update is presently available in Japan and upon upgrading the tablet, one gets to download the Ape Escape mini game collection free of cost. To get the update working, one would have to tether the tablet to the DualShock controller by using an adapter, which has to be purchased separately. However, this process has to be done just the first time and after that one can wirelessly game on the tablet using the controller.

As of now, there is no information if this update will make its way to countries outside Japan. Hopefully, with the next update, these DualShock capabilities will be featured on the slate itself.
