Motorola may outsource sub-$350 phones in 2012

Motorola is probably formulating its game plan for the next year. The company has dished out several mid and high-end smartphones, this year. According to Digitimes, Motorola Mobility is all set to outsource its smartphones in the sub-$350 range to handsets ODMs in 2012. The handsets will be made by Foxconn International Holdings and Arima Communications. It has been speculated that the company wants to concentrate on its high-end models in the intensifying high-end phone battle.

Foxconn has grabbed up to 70-80 percent of these newer smartphones. On the other hand, Arima has received an order of five models. Reportedly, Motorola has already outsourced its new model, dubbed XT532 to Foxconn International Holdings and apparently it won’t be making it to markets outside China.
