Analysts: Nokia shipped 1 million Lumia 800 units in Q4 2011

Nokia’s move to team up with Microsoft has seemingly helped the Finnish firm bounce back into the mobile terrain. The company’s first Windows handset, the Lumia 800, is said to have shipped about 1 million units in the fourth quarter of 2011, reports TechRadar.

The estimated figures are put forth by research firm Morgan Stanley, who also predicts that the future may bring good times for Nokia. However, there could be a fall in its Symbian phones this year. In 2011, Nokia shipped about 70 million handsets based on the Symbian platform. According to Morgan Stanley, the rise in sales in the fourth quarter could be obvious due to the holiday season. Recently the company also displayed the Lumia 900 running on Windows Phone 7.5 Mango at the Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas.
